OMRDD (Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities) is now OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities)

Gov. David A. Paterson signed legislation A.11197/S. 7889 into law July 13, changing the name of the state Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities to the Office for People With Developmental Disabilities.

Reduced Fare Transportation

The Orleans Transit Service (OTS) offers a reduced (half) fare card to those who are disabled. Applicants must contact OTS to complete a form. Please bring a doctor’s note that identifies the disability or prove the disability through another written method. Questions can be addressed to OTS at 585-589-0707. The OTS office is on Hamilton Street in Albion behind the Orleans County fuel farm.

Assurance Wireless offers a free wireless phone and 200 free minutes of wireless service to eligible customers each months. There are no bills, long term contracts, activation fees or surcharges.
